Marinas & Departure Points Around Saint Martin

Your charter's pickup point depends on the yacht and the confirmed arrangement — this guide explains the main options so you can tell us what suits you. It is a destination guide, not an advertisement for the marinas; we do not claim to operate from any specific facility.

French side · Marigot

Marina Fort Louis

The French side's principal marina, right on the Marigot waterfront. Bridge-free access, around 150 slips with 12 ft draft for yachts up to about 260 ft, fuel bunkering, water provisioning and port clearance assistance — with cafés, the market and boutiques a short walk away.

French side · Anse Marcel

Port de Lonvilliers

A smaller marina inside the sheltered cove of Anse Marcel on the north coast — a calm, protected setting on the quieter side of the island.

Dutch side · Simpson Bay Lagoon

Simpson Bay Marina

An established full-service marina inside the lagoon, serving everything from day boats to superyachts, minutes from the Simpson Bay strip's restaurants and provisioning.

Dutch side · Simpson Bay Lagoon

Yacht Club Isle de Sol

A 5-Gold-Anchor superyacht marina on its own lagoon island — around 40 megayacht berths to roughly 320 ft, high-speed in-slip fueling, an in-water shipyard and resort-style amenities. Voted among the world's favorite marinas.

Dutch side · Simpson Bay Lagoon

Port de Plaisance

A large marina and resort complex with extensive berthing and on-site dining, casino and spa amenities inside the lagoon.

St. Barts

Port de Gustavia

The iconic harbor of St. Barts — limited berthing arranged case by case, with most visiting yachts anchoring outside and tendering in. A possible start or end point for one-way charters, schedule permitting.

Lagoon access note: Simpson Bay Lagoon is entered via bridges that open on published schedules. Captains plan around them — your meeting time and place are simply confirmed in your booking documents.

Marinas & Departures — FAQ

Where will my charter actually depart from?

The departure point depends on the yacht you book and the confirmed charter arrangement — we do not claim that every yacht departs from every location. Common departure areas include Simpson Bay and the lagoon marinas on the Dutch side, Marina Fort Louis in Marigot on the French side, and Port de Gustavia in St. Barts. Your exact pickup is confirmed in writing.

What is Marina Fort Louis?

Marina Fort Louis is the French side's principal marina, set on Marigot's waterfront a few steps from cafés, shops and the market. It offers bridge-free access, around 150 slips with a 12 ft draft for yachts up to roughly 260 ft, fuel bunkering, water provisioning and port clearance assistance.

What is Yacht Club Isle de Sol?

A 5-Gold-Anchor superyacht marina on a private island in Simpson Bay Lagoon, voted among the world's favorite marinas, with about 40 megayacht berths for yachts to roughly 320 ft, high-speed in-slip fueling and an in-water shipyard. Access is via the Simpson Bay Bridge.

What is Simpson Bay Marina?

One of the lagoon's established full-service marinas, serving cruising yachts and superyachts with berthing, fuel and chandlery services, close to the Simpson Bay strip's restaurants and provisioning.

What is Port de Plaisance?

A large lagoon marina and resort complex on the Dutch side with extensive berthing and on-site amenities — another practical departure and berthing option inside the bridge.

What is Port de Lonvilliers?

The marina inside Anse Marcel on the French side's sheltered north coast — smaller and quieter than Marigot, in a protected cove that suits calm-water departures.

Do the lagoon bridges affect departure times?

Yes. Simpson Bay Lagoon is reached via the Simpson Bay Bridge (Dutch side) or the Sandy Ground Bridge (French side), which open on published schedules. Captains plan arrival and departure around bridge times; guests simply arrive at the agreed pickup point.

Can we provision or dine near the marinas?

Yes — Marigot's waterfront and the Simpson Bay strip both offer restaurants, cafés and provisioning within minutes of the docks, and the marinas themselves host dining options. Specific venues change; ask us for current suggestions when you book.

Can a charter start in St. Barts?

Charters can be arranged around Port de Gustavia in St. Barts depending on the yacht's position and schedule. One-way arrangements that start or end in Gustavia are quoted individually with route-specific fuel confirmed in writing.

Are customs and immigration handled at the marinas?

Both sides of Saint Martin have port clearance facilities, and marinas such as Marina Fort Louis offer clearance assistance. Any itinerary crossing between territories (St. Barts, Anguilla) requires the appropriate clearances, which the yacht operator verifies before departure.
